although i have donated blood previously, i did a platelet donation today so i thought let the memories be blogged
there is this kid from Hyderabad who is suffering from cancer, age 7 undergoing chemo-therapy at the Tata memorial Hospital at Parel.
so they contacted me as i am registered at indianblooddonors.com to donate platelets
and i went a week ago for various tests and today i did my platelet donation...
i tell you its weird when blood is drawn from a tube, pierced into your arms
the blood so drawn is processed and platelets is separated and stored and my platelet-less blood was pumped back into my body through the same tube....
One tube to withdraw and pump back .... weird
anyways they repeated the same process again and again and for me they did it 9 times or 9 sessions..... thats a lot of sucking and pumping
but in the end i felt great...
giving something of mine which would help a kid and when it helps a cute kid its better
its sure a pain and trouble, but i have made up my mind to do it again in 2 week as soon as the kido needs my help ill be there
i am not superman but still i save lives U to can
